Emerging Leaders Program

The Reuniting of African Descendants (ROAD) Emerging Leaders Program is a multi-functional program centering cultural exchange, leadership development, and building global solidarity among Black Trans and Queer people beyond borders. This program is ROAD’s way of building a strong network of activists, organizers, artists, and community members that share common goals and values, and seek to work together in service of collective power. The Emerging Leaders program has two main arms: our Leadership Councils, which are groups of community members and activists gathered by ROAD to represent the interests of their respective communities and locales, and our Global Ambassadors, who are people (usually chosen from leadership councils, though not exclusively so) that represent their country or region on the global stage along with ROAD, making the deeper commitment to bring the concerns and projects of their respective Leadership Councils to the forefront.
